Outrage As White House Bars CNN, NYT, Others From Briefing
The White House led by President Donald Trump has barred some key news media outlets from attending a briefing.
According to the Daily Beast, “Journalists from CNN, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, BuzzFeed, and Politico were blocked from participating in a gaggle— an informal question-and-answer session between a press secretary and journalists—with White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer in his West Wing office.”
The development has caused a lot of shock and outrage globally with many suggesting the need to pay more attention to Trump who maybe signaling at last, a direct attack on the media.
“If this can happen in the US,then there is fear that press freedom may be in real danger in less developed countries,” a media expert in Nigeria observed.
