Sir,
Corruption is not only when you steal
government money. When you are in
position to work on truth and call white
black then you are a corrupt person.
When you cause confusion in places where
you are supposed to create
understanding, you are a corrupt person.
Even as a politician, if prostitute from
one political party to another all just
for where it would serve your personal
needs better, you are corrupt. It is
said “power corrupts, and absolute power
corrupts absolutely”.
Prince Vincent Ogbulafor was once an
ANPP stalwart and even contested Abia
State governorship on the platform. He
moved over to PDP, became its General
Secretary. Now he is its national
Chairman whose words must always be
respected. But his bad contributions to
the happenings in most State chapters of
PDP show that he has not done well; one
can count – Plateau, Zamfara, Akwa Ibom,
Enugu, Ogun, Oyo, Edo, and recently
Anambra, etc are very visible. To crown
this, the part he played on a serious
national issue that would have brought
in the military thereby truncating our
nascent democracy, stands condemned.
Ogbulafor’s actions are not only anti-PDP
but also anti-masses.
He recently went to the press to accuse
the acting President of not consulting
with the PDP before making a minor
cabinet swap? Who is the head of the PDP
– the acting President or the national
Chairman of PDP? Ogbulafor also jetted
out the country to Saudi-Arabia for an
unfulfilled mission of seeing the ailing
President Yar’Adua and from there,
according to media report, to India for
his own medical (eye) checks, without
consulting the acting President who is
now the head of his party.
PDP Integrity Forum (PIF) in recent
advertisement complained about
Ogbulafor’s weak leadership as the bane
of the PDP. And why Nigeria should
continue to be ruled by a bad party
headed by a wrong person is what beats
many bookmakers. Yet the PDP finds it
difficult to do away with ‘one man’ that
has been an albatross.
