Jonathan Made Osinbajo’s Trip To Niger Delta A Success – Group
The success achieved during recent visits to the Niger Delta by Nigeria’s Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has been attributed to the efforts by former President Goodluck Jonathan, a group, Joint Revolutionary Council (JRC) has said.
Cynthia Whyte who answered questions from the press on behalf of JRC with regards to Osinbajo’s visit said, “It is important that we commend former President Jonathan for watering the ground much before the trip by VP/AP Osibanjo. It was Goodluck Jonathan who made Osibanjo’s trip a success.”
A transcript of the question and answer was emailed to Newsdiaryonline on Tuesday.

Recently Acting President Osinbajo was up and around in the creeks in the Niger Delta….what does the JRC think?
There is good reason to believe that VP/AP Osinbajo has shown good intellect and a comfortable measure of wisdom. In the past few months, he had said the right words and a good number of people in the Niger Delta have expressed satisfaction with his utterances. We will continue to watch with cautious optimism. Yet again, we sometimes wonder, Where was all that intellect and wisdom when his Principal was on the saddle.
It is important that we commend former President Jonathan for watering the ground much before the trip by VP/AP Osinbajo. It was Goodluck Jonathan who made Osibanjo’s trip a success.
In December 2016, former President Goodluck Jonathan visited Gbaramatu for the presentation of staff to the new paramount ruler of Gbaramatu, Oboro Gbaraun II, Aketekpe Agadagba by the Governor of Delta State.
It is truly difficult to understand why a Goodluck Jonathan, whose tenure has been so vilified, to want to work for the success of the same people who have continued to work so hard to disparage and denigrate him.
The Niger Delta may be angry with Goodluck Jonathan, but that same Niger Delta may boil because of Jonathan. For his sake, we may be forced to question the laws of gravity. It is simple physics.
One of the challenges of the Buhari government to get it right with respect to the Niger Delta has been as a result of the antics of satanic elements within the rank and file of agitating groups in the Niger Delta. They are everywhere in the polity today.
Many of them are hardened criminals, unrepentant crooks and workers of grim iniquity. They exist to con and to mislead. They do that for a living. They cannot be saved. They remain eternally condemned.
The Niger Delta cannot rise at the price that Nigeria now offers.
There is a belief in certain quarters that former President Jonathan and his wife foisted unwanted political leaders on the people of the Niger Delta. What is your position on this?
I do not know where you get your information from BUT I think we should be patient until 2019. If what you say is true, then I believe that they will make amends when that time comes. It is important that we stay optimistic and look forward to a better life for our people.
Goodluck Jonathan is no longer president of Nigeria. It is important that we keep that in mind…
