President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed immediate past National Chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party,Alhaji Bamanga Tukur as chairman of Nigeria Railway Corporation.
Tukur’s appointment was announced today in statement by Sam Nwaobasi, special assistant (media) to the,Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
Jonathan also appointed Dr Ghaji Ismaila Bello as director –general ,National Population Commission
The statement by Nwaobasi said “ His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has approved the following appointments:
“Alhaji Bamanga Tukur – as Chairman, Nigerian Railway Corporation
“Dr. Ghaji Ismaila Bello – as Director-General, National Population Commission with effect from January 8th, 2014.
Jonathan after announcing Tukur’s resignation as PDP national chairman pledged t last week that he would offer him a much tougher task .
