IFAD lauds Sokoto govt. on counterpart funding

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) has applauded the government of Sokoto state for prompt payment of its counterparts funds towards boosting agricultural activities in the state.
The National Project Coordinator of IFAD, Alhaji Lawal Ida made the commendation at a two-day sensitization of Community Development Associations on a new Government Enterprise Empowerment Programme (GEEP) initiated by the Federal Government in Sokoto.
Ida who was represented by the coordinator productivity enhancement, Othman Yahaya said since from the inception of IFAD Programmes, Sokoto State Government is always on the forefront not only supporting the Programme but giving out Its counterparts funds on time.
“These are the reasons behind the successful implementation of so many Agricultural projects in the state,” he said.
The Director General of IFAD in Sokoto State, Alhaji Aminu Aliyu Dogon Daji said that the present administration under the leadership of Aminu Tambuwal had given agriculture a top priority.
He further explained that IFAD programmes succeeded in the state because of the doggedness of the government.
