There are fresh facts to indicate that indeed Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab had very minimal contact with Nigeria before his ill fated terror trip.He was overpowered  while trying to detonate a bomb on Friday December 25 ,2009 on board a Delta Airlines flight to Detroit  from Amsterdam.Umar had flown from Nigeria to Amsterdam.

A  statement by Nigeria's Federal Government today revealed that  AbdulMutallab had spent less than 30 minutes in Nigeria after flying into Nigeria from Ghana aboard  Virgin Nigeria Airlines.The  statement  by Professor Dora Akunyili ,Nigeria's Minister of Information and Communications today said:''Further investigations by Nigerian government have revealed  that Abdul Mutallab  spent less than 30 minutes in Nigerian airport before boarding the flight to Amsterdam''

The federal government further revealed that:''He(AbdulMutallab) arrived Nigeria 24 Dec. from Ghana via Virgin Nigeria.His passport was scanned on entry into Nigeria at 20.08  and was scanned at check-in   for departure to Amsterdam at 20.35. Nigerian government has ordered  3D body scanner  which is capable of revealing everything on the body.3D body scanner, the latest technology is currently  not available in most airports both in developed and developing countries.'' It is worthy of note that  the terror suspect had seized communication with his family long before this incident.

Newsdiaryonline sources said the terror suspect spent more time in Amsterdam than Nigeria.In fact said the insider, the focus of the investigation ought to be on Amsterdam where AbdulMutallab spent more time and he possibly interacted with people.The attempt to profile Nigeria as the terror haven is viewed by experts as diversionary since there has been no concrete evidence that he had the bomb in Nigeria

Newsdiaryonline also learnt that Nigerian aviation authorities are already in possession of  video clips of Abdul Mutallab's arrival in Nigeria from Ghana and his clip while checking in for departure to Amsterdam.These clips are being hailed as  important milestones within official circles.The clips are an indication that he went through proper screening and procedure in Nigeria.Government sources say they will cooperate fully with investigations

But officials were also quick to point out the heroic and incredible efforts of Umar Mutallab who had earlier  reported his son to Nigeria's intelligence community and the United States embassy.Though the US embassy forwarded the information, the intelligence community failed to share the hints ,thus paving way for what President Barack Obama has dubbed unacceptable systemic failure.Perhaps it may be proper also to check  the Ghanaian connection.Where and who did he go to in Ghana?  More puzzles,perhaps.
