Book:’The Moses Of The Middle Belt’ set for launch

Middle-Belt-NigeriaArrangements are already in top gear for the launching of a book chronicling the life and times of one of the leading champions in the struggle for Middle Belt identity, Da Moses Rwang Kanang. The book, titled The Moses Of The Middle Belt is authored by his grandson, Sen. Gyang Nyam Shom Pwajok, Senator representing Plateau North.
Da Moses Rwang Kanang, who was born in 1914, the year of the amalgamation of Northern and Southern Nigeria, died in 2007 when he was 93 years old.
Moses of the Middlebelt tells the eventful life of Da Moses Rwang Kanang, who served in the West Africa Frontier Force before becoming a Member of the Northern Region House of Assembly .
In the book which contains Ten chapters GNS captured the early life of Da Rwang Kanang from Rikkos in Jos Plateau State, he tells of his humble beginnings, his work as a world war veteran and his contributions and submissions as a member of the Northern Region House of Assembly . It also addresses the place of Da Moses Rwang as a fighter for justice and equal rights. A part of the book says “Moses was a man who was not only firm, bold and daring, but one that had the courage to withstand opposition. He said what he believed needed to be said at all times clearly, constantly and consistently.”
The media officer to Sen. Pwajok, Mr. Chuwang Dung, told Journalists in Jos that already a committee has been set-up under the chairmanship of Hon.Simon Mwadkon, member representing Riyom/Barkin Ladi federal constituency to make arrangements for the public presentation of the book that will no doubt find a place on the bookshelves as a record of history and an inspirational book.
Chuwang said the planning committee will soon announce the date for the launching.
