‘Abolish or Reform the Emirate System’-Shehu Sani Outlines Roadmap for Northern Nigeria
Item eleven of his 29-point Roadmap for Northern Nigeria reads thus: “Abolishing or reforming the Emirate system to adapt it to the realities of the 21st century”
Other measures he enumerated include, “abolishing the Almajiri system and enact laws to penalize same”.He also called for the revitalization of industries in Kano ,Kaduna and Jos.
The human rights activist said it was necessary to ensure “abolishing unnecessary religious censorship on film industry and massive investment on Kano film industry or Kannywood”

A Road Map for Northern Nigeria
1- Restore inter religious peace between Muslims and Christians.
2- End sources of and all acts of terror.
3- Abolishing the Almajiri system and enact laws to penalize same.
4- Revive and recapitalize the joint Northern company the NNDC and upgrade it to a
5- An Agricultural master plan for exports of cash crops such as cotton.
6- Right sizing and restructuring of educational institution to emphasize on sciences and tech.
7- Investment in Solid minerals exploration and exportation.
8- massive reforestation program in the border states.
9-A tourism master plan and massive investment in hospitality industry.
10-Investiment in solar Energy and hydro electric power.
11-Abolishing or reforming the Emirate system to adapt it to the realities of the 21st century.
12-investment in sports academies.
13-Abolishing unnecessary religious censorship on film industry and massive investment on Kano film industry or Kannywood.
14-Reaching out to China,Brazil,Singapore,South Korea,Malaysia on reviving Kano,Kaduna and Jos moribund industries.
15- Resettling the Fulani cattle rearers and modernizing and streamlining the meat and leather Industry for domestic consumption and export.
16- Internal revenue generation drive.
17- Fiscal autonomy of state assemblies and local Government councils.
18- A Dubai style international markets in the states bordering Abuja.
19- State Governors must end pilfering public funds.
20- Massive and free ICT education for pupils,Students and Youths.
21- Reviving lake chad for fishing and oil exploration.
22- Massive international media campaign to restore the good image of the region and to attract investment.
23- proactive civil society groups to challenge Bad governance,extremism and rights violations.
24- Establishing six university of Medicine and free education for eligible students.
25- use of Mosques and Churches for Micro credit scheme.
26- Setting up of a Northern Investment Bank.
28- Ten year energy independence program by investing in and developing Bio fuels.
29- Setting up of Northern Investment Forum offices in Dubai,China,India,Brazil and south
