Acting President Jonathan pledges to strengthen anti-Corruption war

Acting President Goodluck Jonathan addressed Nigerians at 10.00PM on NTA after the network news in what was his first public remarks after the national assembly resolved to recognize him as acting president today.The acting president outlined what appears to be the focus of his administration..

The  acting president expressed his resolve to strengthen the anti corruption war which he said will be pursued more vigorously.He said this within the context of his commitment to good governance.While commending the successful election in Anambra state ,he said the polls exposed the weaknesses in our electoral process which the government will address.

In particular, he promised to consolidate the gains of the amnesty programme.He called for patience on the part of the stakeholders.

The acting president also said all will be done to provide a lasting solution to the Jos cris and that the culprits will be brought to justice.His government will not tolerate the culture of impunity, he said

Jonathan who was full of commendation for various stakeholders who actively ensured the resolution of the crisis particularly commended the security forces for their patriotic roles

He listed power, infrastructure ,security ,employment generation and facilitating conducive business environment  as priority areas

He prayed for the swift recovery of President Umaru YarAdua,and also said the vison 20:20:20 is irreversible perhaps to affirm that his regime will not abandon the YarAdua mantra.

In conclusion Acting President Jonathan said he feels "deeply humbled and honoured by this great call to duty", which he also described as a "sacred duty".
